Weasle Eicke Scholarship – TBA 2025

The Weasle Eicke Scholarship is an initiative of CrewCare providing a pathway to jobs in live music. Music Australia will look to expand the program, which is currently being delivered in Victoria in partnership with Creative Victoria, into other states around the country.
The program is intended to provide a fast-tracked pathway for tertiary students undertaking live production courses, and unskilled workers from both regional and metro areas, who are active within the live
music industry. This is an equal opportunity program that is designed to encourage and provide opportunities for a diverse range of people. The aim is to elevate these students and workers to fill existing job vacancies with leading production suppliers.
The Music Writers Lab – September/November 2024

The Music Writer’s Lab was an initiative to amplify the development of a new generation of music critics. It facilitated critical discussion of music culture and explored new distribution partnerships. It was designed to celebrate established critics and create a deep appreciation for Australian writing and music. The program was designed to support and develop the critical perspectives of people of marginalised voices, including women, non-binary people and all gender identities from across Australia.
Australian Women in Music Awards – October 2024

AWMA provided an appropriate platform and a unique and timely opportunity to place Gender equality back on the agenda in a national context. Music Australia’s funding contributed toward admin costs, event expenditure, marketing, staff, contractors and technical support.
High Score Conference – October 2024
(with APRA AMCOS)
High Score is where music creators, game developers, and industry professionals connect and explore the important role that music and audio play in game design and experience. In its eighth year, High Score continued to uphold its reputation as one of the premier Games Audio Conferences on a global scale. APRA AMCOS, in partnership with Music Australia, delivered a series of ten National scholarships to songwriters and composers to attend the 2024 High Score Games Audio conference.
First Sounds Compilation – October 2024

This initiative was designed to get more First Nations music artists heard across Australian community radio, building audiences, engagement and potential for revenue. A continuation and development of a previously run program (funded by Australia Council for the Arts), First Sounds was an opportunity to create awareness and new audiences for First Nations music artists via community radio. This iteration of the program created a new partnership between the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) and Gadigal Information Service (GIS), maximising potential reach and new audiences.
AMP’ed Up – October 2024

Alex The Astronaut and Nooky joined the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Australian Music Prize (AMP), presenting the new AMP’ed UP campaign, which exists to uplift the entire music ecosystem. It was designed to encourage music fans and industry professionals to embrace the creativity and diversity of our world-class music scene.
More Than A One Night Stand Sessions – September 2024

Recognising the significance of the revival of triple j’s One Night Stand, Music Australia assembled a range of music service organisations for the More Than a One Night Stand Sessions, to engage with the local Warrnambool community and deliver bespoke industry-training programs, panel sessions, songwriting workshops and an industry forum leading up to the event. The suite of capacity building initiatives were delivered in the lead-up to and following the event, and included signature programs delivered by The Push, Live Music Office, Crew Care, AAM, AIR, Kennel & Co, APRA AMCOS the VMDO and Music Victoria.
Regional & Remote Music Summit – August 2024

Music Australia co-invested with the NT Government to fund the inaugural Regional and Remote Music Summit, delivered by MusicNT. Industry experts, artists, policymakers, academics, and community leaders convened in Darwin to discuss the challenges and opportunities happening beyond the capital cities. The objective of the Summit was to support a stronger and more connected regional music industry through collaborative problem solving and innovation.
Game Audio Intensive – August 2024
(with AMC & MESS)
Developed by the Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio (MESS) with support from the Australian Music Centre (AMC), this program offered 8 successful applicants a fully subsidised 8-week program, tailored to the needs of independent game development. With a focus on hands-on experience, networking and capacity building, participants immersed themselves in interactive creation, learn game audio workflow and tools, and engaging with industry professionals. They gained invaluable experience, expanded their portfolio and forged connections at a national level.
ARIA Amplified – August 2024

Presented by AMEX, supported by Music Australia, and produced by Roving Enterprises, The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) announced ARIA AMPLIFIED: a 60-90 second weekly audio-visual wrap-up of the week’s music news as uploaded by Aussie artists across an 8-month program. Online channels, feeds and communities are filled with content from our favourite artists, and this bite size show will make sure none of what matters is missed.
